And don't forget the support network. Parts availability, dealer response time, and operator familiarity matter more than a one-time rental rate.
Step 4: Put a real schedule on the contract
When I'm triaging a rush order, the first thing I do is count the hours. The second thing I ask is: what's the worst-case consequence of missing this date?

But the core checklist hasn't changed: define the lift, survey the site, match the equipment, confirm the schedule, and plan for the unexpected. Do that, and you can survive even a rush order.
